The Newest Biomarker Technology
A Giant Leap Forward

Supported by a rising tide of impressive new research, biomarker technology is revolutionizing veterinary medicine by helping veterinarians diagnose diseases earlier, monitor therapies and disease states more effectively, and formulate more accurate, data-based prognoses—all in real time, right in the clinic.

How Biomarkers Are Revolutionizing
Veterinary Medicine

Quality of Results

  • Quantitative results provide precise, numerical data
(unlike qualitative SNAP tests that yield binary results).

  • Quantitative results are objective, without bias or
subjective interpretation.

  • Immediate testing eliminates sample deterioration.

  • Accuracy exceeds 90%.

Timing Advantages

  • Fast results allow therapy to begin immediately.

  • In-clinic results create efficiency: examination,
diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment
commencement in one visit.

  • On-site results make accurate monitoring possible.

Client Satisfaction

  • Immediate results allow collaboration,
keeping clients engaged and informed.

  • Clients appreciate immediate results without
the need to rebook another appointment or
 return for medication.

Higher Sensitivity

  • Higher sensitivity helps diagnose diseases in
earlier stages, even in non-clinical animals.

  • Sensitive but affordable tests help verify when
gold-standard diagnostics make the most sense.

  • Non-specific, sensitive tests help identify comorbidities.

  • Perfect screening tool for wellness exams.

Lower Cost

  • Affordable equipment requires no significant
upfront investment.
  • Affordable tests allow you to run different biomarkers
in tandem for a more robust diagnostic profile.

  • Clients are more likely to agree to multiple tests
for serial blood testing/or monitoring.

Economic Stability

  • By agreeing to run a greater number of more sensitive tests at a lower price point, clients will receive much better value for their money.

  •  Because the volume of tests you run will rise, you can reduce the cost to your client while maintaining sound business economics.

  • A higher number of more sensitive tests will identify more diseases requiring treatment. This model works for you, your business, your client, and your patient.

Our Current Markers
Give Us the Right Answers,
But Too Late in the Process.

We veterinarians love very specific tests because they give us a definitive direction and, ultimately, a clear treatment path. The biomarkers that we use in practice are no exception. SDMA elevations point to kidney disease, and cPL or fPL to pancreatitis.

However, by the time these markers become abnormal, most pets are already in the later stages of a chronic, progressive disease. Specific but less sensitive biomarkers are useful but limited.

What’s Changed:
Modern Biomarker Technology

Earlier detection, broader insight
Fortunately, biomarker technology has advanced significantly in recent years. We now have extremely sensitive tests that can detect even slight changes in an animal’s internal processes.
These tests allow us to:
Diagnose diseases such as cancer,
cardiac disease, clotting disorders,
and infections much earlier in the
disease process — sometimes
Use quantitative data points to accurately monitor disease processes or therapies over time and predict outcomes more accurately.
Test normal, non-clinical animals
as part of a robust and effective
wellness protocol.

Affordable. Efficient. scalable.

What’s more, these tests are so affordable, for both clinics and clients, that we can run multiple tests per case, allowing for:
  • Better clinical decision-making
  • Higher value per appointment
  • Improved long-term patient care without
increasing client burden
Supported by an ever-growing body of research, biomarker technology is truly revolutionary and poised to elevate the way we practice veterinary medicine.
